NETGEAR has announced a 10 Gigabit smart switch.

The company says the GS752TXS ProSafe 52-Port Gigabit Stackable Smart Switch is designed for for "Mid-Enterprise" customers

The Layer 2 switch has 48 Gigabit ports and four 10G SFP+ ports for stacking or uplink to servers. Up to six switches can be stacked for a total of 288 network ports.

Features include static routes, dynamic VLANs, IGMP / MLD snooping, TCP/UDP-based Access Control List, Auto DoS attack prevention, DHCP snooping, 8 hardware queues with port-based and 802.1p/DSCP-based QoS and ingress and egress rate-limiting

The GS752TXS is shipping now at an MSRP of $2100.
