Buffalo Announces Updated Dual-Drive Mini NAS

Buffalo Technology today announced an updated version of its compact dual-drive 2.5" SATA drive NAS.

The LinkStation Mini (LS-WSXL/R1) features increased performance, a new user interface and support for RAID 0 and 1.

The mini holds two 2.5" SATA drives and comes in 500 GB and 1 TB versions. The fanless design features a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port and single USB 2.0 port for storage expansion, printer serving or UPS shutdown synchronization.

Software features include Active Directory integration, user and group permission settings, secure SFTP remote access, DLNA CERTIFIED and iTunes media servers, AFP and SMB/CIFS network file protocol support, Apple Time Machine backup support and free secure remote access from any web browser.

The new Buffalo LinkStation Mini will be available soon at estimated street prices of $229.99 for the 500GB (LS-WSX500L/R1) and $329.99 for the 2TB (LS-WSX1.0L/R1).

Iomega buying ExcelStor Group

Iomega today announced that it has entered into a definitive share purchase agreement to acquire ExcelStor Great Wall Technology Limited, a Cayman Islands company, and Shenzhen ExcelStor Technology Limited, a PRC company.
