The Symantec agent installs directly on the ReadyNAS appliance as a RAIDiator Add-On and communicates directly with Symantec Backup Exec software to provide improved performance for backup, restore, archive and disaster recovery solutions in Backup Exec environments.

NETGEAR said it is the first vendor to support RALUS on "sub-$5,000" storage systems.

The RALUS Add-On is supported by Backup Exec versions 10.5 and newer and priced at $395.00. It is available now for download from both NETGEAR and Symantec.
