QNAP announces 8-bay, Core 2 Duo powered NAS

The "enterprise-grade" TS-809 Pro Turbo is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz CPU, configured with 2GB DDRII memory and supports 8 3.5" SATA drives for up to 12 TB of storage capacity or 16TB when 2 TB drives are qualified.

RAID 0/1/5/6/5+spare volumes can be created and online RAID expansion and level migration are supported. Other features include iSCSI with Thin Provisioning (up to 8 iSCSI devices), AES 256-bit volume-based encryption, monitoring, recording from IP cameras, XDove mail server and print server for up to three USB printers.

As with all QNAP products, the TS-809 Pro includes a full-featured LAMP webserver with built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla, MySQL, SQLite, editable php.ini and MySQL server.

Pricing and availability were not announced.
