Seagate Adds Two-Bay BlackArmor NAS

The BlackArmor NAS 220 Storage Server comes in 2 and 4 TB configurations and supports multiple JBOD, RAID 0 and 1 volumes with optional volume-level encryption. The hardware platform is comprised of two Seagate Barracuda drives, 800 MHZ processor, 128 MB RAM and Gigabit Ethernet port.

Other features include FTP and UPnP AV / DLNA and iTunes servers, dual USB 2.0 ports for printer sharing, UPS shutdown synchronization and storage expansion, Active Directory support, email notification, bundled client backup software including "bare metal" recovery and NAS backup to attached USB or networked NAS.

The NAS 220 will be available in "late July" at MSRPs of $449.99 for 2TB and $699.99 for 4TB.

Seagate also announced the BlackArmor WS 110 Workstation External Drive ($159.99 / 1TB, $309.99 / 2TB) supporting eSATA and USB 2.0 connection and the BlackArmor PS 110 Portable Drive ($159.99 / 500GB) with USB connect. Both are shipping now.
