Synology Releases DSM 5.2

Synology logoSynology’s latest OS brings improved business and media features.

DiskStation Manager 5.2. includes new business features focused on software development, backups, restoration, cloud technology, security, and caching. On the consumer side there are improvements to Note Station, DS note, DS audio, DS photo+, and Audio Station.

Business improvements include:

  • Docker support
  • Smart Recycling, Single File Versioning, and iSCSI LUN snapshot
  • Cloud Sync now offers one-way sync to help prevent unauthorized file updates and encryption before data is transferred to the Cloud.
  • SMB 3 encryption
  • SSD Caching memory use reduction

Multimedia and Mobile changes:

  • Updates to Note station and DS note make it easier to create, organize, and use to-do lists.
  • Navigation and sound quality enhancements to DS audio and Audio Station
  • DS photo+ now supports Chromecast and DLNA-compatible devices

Synology DSM 5.2 is a free upgrade for DiskStation, RackStation, or Embedded DataStation x10 series and up
