CES 2011

CES LogoTP-Link's CES introductions include a simultaneous dual-band three-stream N router, IP cam and mini single stream N USB adapter.

Seems like someone must have a new chipset out because TP-Link is the second company (TRENDnet was first) to roll out a "450 Mbps" dual-radio N router this CES. The TL-WR2843ND 450Mbps Simultaneous Dual Band Wireless Gigabit Router sounds similar to the one TRENDnet just announced, with one Gigabit WAN, four switched Gigabit LAN ports and WPS security.

Maybe I missed it on TRENDnet's announcement, but TP-Link's version has a "USB Share Port", (hmmm does D-Link know about this?) for drive, but not printer sharing. If TP-Link really does ship it for $129.99 in May, then TRENDnet may have some serious margin reduction to do on its version.

The other two TP-Link introductions aren't as attention-grabbing. 150Mbps Mini Wireless USB Adapter (TL-WN723N) - $12.99 – available March 2011 about says it all, if you happen to be in the market for that sort of thing, except look at that price again! It's single band, by the way.

The TL-SC4171G Wireless Pan/Tilt Surveillance Camera has both 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11g wireless connectivity, 0.3 Megapixel (640x480) image sensor, 354 degree pan / 125 degree tilt range, 10x digital zoom, jacks for microphone and speaker connection and infrared LED ring for nightime capture. No PoE power, though. It lists for $299.99 and will ship in March.

No pix right now for any of these, but maybe when I swing by TP-Link's booth tomorrow.
