The company is now offering the subscription-based Internet security service with its DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit and DIR-628 RangeBooster N Dual Band Routers. The service is now also available with the DSD-150 Internet Security Adapter.
SECURESPOT 2.0 uses a thin client that is automatically downloaded to Windows clients connected to the above products that includes the McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware engine that protects computers from malware, ID theft and pop-ups. Other features include URL filtering and reporting and access control.
The "Family Protection" plan, including parental controls for an unlimited number of devices, is $30 per year. "Total Protection", including endpoint security for three PCs, is $60 annually with licenses for additional PCs at $20 each.
