ZyXEL expands UTM appliance line

The new products are Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances that can provide 24 Mbps to 100 Mbps throughput with all UTM features enabled including IDP (intrusion detection and prevention), anti-virus (AV), spam blocking and content filtering.

The appliances have multiple WAN ports that can support USB 3G or PCMCIA 3G cards in either load-sharing or failover backup mode. 3G WAN support is currently available in the USG100 and USG200 models and will be added to the rest of the USG line by Q42008 as a free firmware upgrade.

The new USG100, USG200 and USG1000 models are available now at MSRPs of $649.99, $999.99 and $3399.99, respectively. They join the previously-introduced USG300, which lists for $1899.99.
