Axis announces HD Network Camera

The AXIS Q1755 Network Camera delivers 1080i or 720p HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and supports both H.264 and Motion JPEG in full frame rate. The camera includes enhanced video motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering, such as blocking or spray-painting. The Q1755 also incorporates new "Gatekeeper" functionality, which automatically zooms in when there is activity in a scene and then zooms out after a preset time interval.

Other features include HTTPS encryption, IEEE 802.1X authentication, IPv4/IPv6, Quality of Service, 10x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom, SD/SDHC memory card slot for local recording storage and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet.

The Q1755 will be available next month at an MSRP of $1499.
