What Happened To SmallCloudBuilder?

SmallCloudBuilder’s focus has been on Consumer Cloud. We have covered this beat for almost two years, reviewing, commenting and analyzing everything from cloud storage and backup in hybrid (hardware / software) and pure virtual forms to cloud based computer repair. And all the while maintaining the high editorial standards set in our sibling site, SmallNetBuilder.

While SCB has a strong dedicated audience, we’ve found that the audience growth rate has remained unchanged for some time. Some of this comes from consumer concerns about cloud security and some comes from the bandwidth battles that are starting to move consumers from an all-you-can-eat to a more traditional metered utility cost structure.

Another trend is the move by consumer networking product makers to incorporate cloud features into their products. These "hybrid cloud" products have been causing us to split coverage between SNB and SCB, forcing readers to ping-pong between the sites for the whole story… not a very reader-friendly approach.

The bottom line is that we have decided to suspend SmallCloudBuilder and move our existing and future cloud coverage into SmallNetBuilder in this new Cloud Section. So welcome, and enjoy!
