Siemens said the UWB multimedia home solution is capable of providing high-speed communications between devices either wirelessly, or using existing wiring within rooms or extending across multiple rooms. The product delivers transmission speeds of up to 480 Mbps with targeted applications including IPTV and HDTV.

Tzero is a leading supplier of UWB solutions, including those used for high-definition video. The company’s advanced technology can connect a range of A/V components – displays, set-top boxes, digital video recorders, media center PCs, residential gateways and more. Tzero’s platform is based on WiMedia Alliance standards and is "guaranteed to co-exist with other WiMedia-compliant devices".

The system is being demonstrated at TelcoTV in Dallas, Texas this week. The company said that first prototypes will be available" by the end of this year". Pricing was not provided.
