BVS announces handheld 802.11b/a/g analyzer

Berkeley Varitronics Systems yesterday announced a new Yellowjacket handheld Wi-Fi & spectrum analyzer.

The Yellowjacket B/A/G system demodulates, sweeps and analyzes all popular 802.11 Wi-Fi network packets including 802.11 a, b and g. The new handheld is also a spectrum analyzer that measures RF energy in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands accurate to within +1 dB.

Analysis features include SNR (Signal-to-Noise), Multipath (Ec/Io), Delay Spread, Channel Frequency Response (CFR), SSID and RSSI measurements.

Yellowjacket B/A/G will be available next quarter. Pricing was not given.
