D-Link logoD-Link has rolled out two 802.11ac access points.

The DAP-1665 Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Access Point is an AC1200 class access point with Gigabit Ethernet port and two upgradeable 2 dBi dual-band omni-directional dipole antennas.

It does not support central management and does not support PoE, so is suited for small deployments.

The AP can be configured as an access point, bridge, bridge with access point, repeater, or wireless client and supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 PSK (only) wireless security as well as Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

The DAP-1665 carries a one-year warranty and is shipping now, with street pricing "under $100".

The DAP-2695 Wireless AC1750 Simultaneous Dual-Band PoE Access Point is an AC1750 class access point more suited for larger business deployments. It has dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, one of which can power the AP via 802.3at PoE+ and a dedicated RJ45 console port. Its three 4 dBi 2.4 GHz and three 6 dBi 5 GHz external antennas are all upgradeable and the plenum-rated metal chassis can be placed in air passages.

Supported wireless modes are Access Point, Wireless Distribution System (WDS) with Access Point, WDS/Bridge (No AP Broadcasting) and Wireless Client. Other features include WEP and WPA/WPA2 Personal and Enterprise wireless security, built-in RADIUS server, MAC address filtering, wireless LAN segmentation, SSID broadcast disable, rogue AP detection, and wireless radio scheduling.

Traffic can be segmented using eight VLANs per radio, client-to-client isolation and Windows Server 2008 Network Access Protection (NAP). Administration can be via HTTP / HTTPS web browser or SSH / Telnet command line. SNMP management is also available via D-Link's AP Manager II, or D-View SNMP management module.

The DAP-2695 carries a limited lifetime warranty and is shipping now, with $280 - $350 street pricing .
