Amped Wireless Announces High Power N Router and Repeater

Amped Wireless has announced a wireless router and repeater that both claim 10,000 square feet of coverage.

The R10000 High Power Wireless-N 600mW Smart Router and the SR10000 High Power Wireless-N 600mW Smart Repeater both have dual 600mW transmit amplifiers, high gain 5dBi antennas and low noise receive amplifiers.

The company claims that the amplifiers and higher-gain antennas combine to provide "up to 10,000 sq. ft. of high performance Wi-Fi coverage".

The single-band 2.4 GHz R1000’s features include one WAN and four switched LAN 10/100 Ethernet ports, dual detachable 5 dBi antennas and SPI+NAT firewall with parental controls. Wireless features include MAC address filtering, four guest networks, Wi-Fi Protected setup and WEP/WPA/WPA2 security.

The SR1000 repeater also operates in the 2.4 GHz band and can be used with any wireless router. It also has dual detachable 5 dBi antennas and four 10/100 Ethernet ports and supports Wi-Fi Protected setup and WEP/WPA/WPA2 security.

The R1000 and SR1000 will be available in the "next few weeks" at MSRPs of $129.99.
