Atheros launches 802.11g PCI Express chip

Product features include physical data rates up to 54 megabits-per-second (Mbps), "more than 300 feet" of wireless signal coverage, PCIe bus interface, 802.11i wireless security and support for WMM and draft 802.11e Quality of Service (QoS).

Atheros is currently in volume production and shipping the AR5007EG to "leading customers". Pricing details were not given.
