D-Link Adds Mini N USB Adapter Duo

D-Link has announced two small 802.11n USB adapters.

The DWA-121 Wireless N 150 Pico USB Adapter is a 2.4 GHz single-stream 802.11n USB 2.0 adapter supporting a maximum link rate of 150 Mbps.

The DWA-131 Wireless N Nano USB Adapter is a slightly larger 2.4 GHz dual-stream 802.11n USB 2.0 adapter supporting link rates up to 300 Mbps.

D-Link DWA-121 and DWA-131

Both adapters support Windows XP, Vista and 7 and feature WPA / WPA2 and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) wireless security. The DWA-131 has a WPS pushbutton for added convenience

The DWA-121 and DWA-131 are available now both at MSRPs of $49.99.

Cisco yesterday announced an Aironet series access point with dual 802.11n Draft 2.0 radios.

The modular Cisco Aironet 1250 Series access point has a modular design with 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz 802.11n draft 2.0 standard radio modules. Cisco says that the AP can deliver "total data rates of up to 600 Mbps". The 1250 is an addition to Cisco's Unified Wireless Network product line and can be deployed in both standalone and "unified" (lightweight AP) modes.

Singapore wireless freeloader faces three years imprisonment

You better think twice before accessing another person's wireless network in Singapore. 17-year-old Garyl Tan Jia Luo is the first person accused of violating the country's Computer Misuse Act and now faces up to three years imprisonment. Authorities say he used his laptop to access his neighbors wireless access point.
