The SMC EZ Connect N Draft 802.11n Wireless Access Point/Ethernet Client (SMCWEB-N) can operate in either access point or Ethernet client mode. It has the same wireless security features as the router and includes a 4-port 10/100 switch for connecting multiple devices in client mode. Mode switching can be done via a web interface or hardware switch.

The new EZ Connect N Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (SMCWUSB-N) also supports WPA, WPA2 and WPS wireless security.

The router, AP / Client and USB adapter are all available now at MSRPs of $174.99, $114.99 and $62.99 respectively.

PCTEL Receives Critical Roaming Patent

PCTEL announced today that its fundamental patent covering roaming across different types of wireless networks has been granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). 

PCTEL had previously announced that the USPTO had communicated its intention to grant the patent. Official notification was provided on November 7, 2006.
