WD Trots Out Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender

WD logoWD has launched a selectable dual-band "N450" wireless range extender.

The My Net Wi-Fi Range Extender (WDBAPK0000NCH) has a dual-band 3×3 802.11abgn radio supporting link rates up to 450 Mbps (N450).

Setup can be done without logging into its web interface or running any installation software by joining any wireless network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

Optimum placement can then be done by using the signal strength indicator lights on the side of the product. Band selection can be done via a switch on the product.

The Extender also has a Gigabit Ethernet port that supports one wired client when in extender mode. This port is also used for network connection when the product is switched to its access point (AP) mode.
