The HomePNA Alliance has announced a new standard that could provide an alternative to MoCA for delivering high bandwidth data over coax cables.

Fast EoC targets broadband access in MDU and Hospitality markets that have existing coax wiring.

The new standard is said to deliver 320 Mbps in regular mode and up to 640 Mbps in a new bonded-channel mode. Up to 126 endpoints can be supported per network.

Fast EoC-based HomePNA devices are available now from Sigma Designs.
