SmallNetBuilder Returns

It’s been a little over two years since I stopped regularly reviewing products here on SmallNetBuilder. During that time, I’ve been developing test methods and automation for my test partner, octoScope. While that’s been fun and interesting work, I’ve lost touch with what the consumer Wi-Fi industry has been foisting on those of us trying to make sense of all the jargon they spew out.

So, octoScope has agreed to continue to support me, but let me return to putting products through their paces. I’ll mostly be reviewing wireless routers, with an occasional deep dive into particular aspects of the complex technology that Wi-Fi has become.

A lot has happened in the past two years and the ol’ website was pretty crusty. So I’ve spiffed things up a bit with a bolder and simpler look. It should produce a nicely readable site on any size device. But please let me know if you run into problems.

You’ll notice the menu bar above has been simplified. Most of the old content is still available, but moved under the Archives link. I hope to get the Charts, Rankers and Finders updated with the new test data for your comparison pleasure. But that may take a little longer as I work through the back end issues.

Time to get to work!
