TP-LINK Announces $200 Gigabit Full PoE Switch

TP-LINK logoTP-LINK has released an eight port Gigabit switch with PoE on all ports.

The TL-SG1008PE 8-Port Gigabit Desktop/Rackmount Switch with 8-Port PoE is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with all 8 eight ports supporting 802.3at/af Power over Ethernet.

Each port can supply up to 30W, with a total power budget of 124 W.

A built-in power priority feature cuts off power to lower priority ports (determined by port number) if power draw exceeds the 124 W limit.

Linksys intros small biz managed switches, RAID BYOD NASes

Linksys today announced six new "fully managed" Layer-2 switches and its first line of RAID capable network attached storage solutions with both lines aimed at small business users.

The new switches include two stackable 24 10/100 + 4 gigabit port, two stackable 24 10/100/1000 + 4 SFP port and standalone 24 10/100 + 4 gigabit and 48 10/100 + 4 gigabit models. Four out of the six products include PoE ports and all feature a web management interface as well as SNMP, RMON and Telnet management options.

The new NASes represent the company's first foray into RAID networked storage. Both of the two models support up to four drives and feature redundant power supplies. They come either without drives or configured with 1 TB of RAID 5 storage and support RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 1 + Spare, RAID 5, RAID 5 + Spare, RAID 10, and JBOD configurations.
