QNAP has added an eight-bay member to its D525 Atom NAS line.
The TS-859 Pro+ Turbo NAS uses a 1.8 GHz D525 dual-core Intel Atom CPU with 1GB RAM with read performance spec'd at 116 MB/s.
The new NAS runs V3.3 of QNAP's NAS operating system, which is certified VMware Ready, Citrix Ready and Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V clusters compliant.
Features include iSCSI initiator and target service, 2.5 and 3.5" SATA drive support and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 5+ hot spare, and 6+ hot spare volumes with online RAID capacity expansion, online RAID level migration, and RAID recovery
The TS-859 Pro+ starts shipping this month at an MSRP of $1,579.
