Synology Releases DSM 4.0

Synology logo Synology has released its new NAS OS.

DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.0 adds a number of "business-friendly" and Cloud features. Cloud Station allows users to sync their files between their PCs and Synology NAS over the Internet, while QuickConnect provides easy connection via Synology-hosted dynamic DNS.

Other features include improved ADS/ACL support, VPN client/server (PPTP & OpenVPN), LUN backup, bundled antivirus, updated iOS, Android and Kindle Fire apps and an improved Package center (add-in modules).

DSM 4.0 can be demoed and downloaded now for DiskStation x08 series and newer. There is no charge for the upgrade.
