Buffalo Adds to TeraStation Line

Updated 1/26/2010 Buffalo Technology today announced a new four-drive RAID 5 NAS.

The TeraStation ES is intended to fill a gap between Buffalo’s TeraStation Pro II and TeraStation III. It uses a 1.2 GHz Marvell Kirkwood CPU and 256 MB of RAM vs. a Marvell MV78100-A0 C080 and 512 MB of RAM on the TS III and a Marvell "Orion" 88F5281 and 128 MB of memory on the TS Pro II.

Features include support for 0, 1, 5, 10, JBOD volumes with optional 128-bit AES encryption, Active Directory integration, real-time share replication, hot swap / spare drives and dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.

Buffalo says the ES will be shipping shortly with estimated street prices of $699.99 for the 2TB (TS-XE2.0TL/R5), $899.99 for the 4TB (TS-XE4.0TL/R5), $1299.99 for the 6TB (TS-XE6.0TL/R5) and $1699.99 for the 8TB (TS-XE8.0TL/R5).
