QNAP Announces Eight-Bay 2.5″ SATA Atom NAS

The SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS uses an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, has 2 GB of DDRII RAM and 5 USB 2.0, 2 eSATA and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The SS-839 Pro supports RAID 0/1/5/6/5+spare configurations with online RAID capacity expansion and level migration. Other features include iSCSI target service for up to 8 devices, AES 256-bit volume encryption, instant SMS and email alerts and secure HTTPs access.

The new NAS also supports media, print and other services common to QNAP’s NAS family.

Price and availability were not announced.
