Synology Releases NAS OS Upgrade

Synology today released a new version of its NAS operating system.

DiskStation Manager (DSM) 2.3‘s new features include:

· New RAID and Volume ManagementSynology Hybrid RAID (SHR) supports storage expansion via additional or larger drives and automatically optimizes capacity when different size drives are used.

· Cloud Backup – Backup to Amazon S3 service is now supported.

· Optional Folder Encryption – 256-bit AES encryption on shared folders

· Surveillance Station iPhone viewing – Surveillance Station users can now view live and recorded events from their IP cameras on their iPhone.

DSM 2.3 is available now as a free download for the following models:
