Synology Unveils NAS With New Dual-Drive Design

Synology has announced a dual-bay NAS sporting a new case design

The DiskStation DS211+ uses Marvell’s new 1.6 GHz Kirkwood SoC with 512 MB of RAM. It is the first model to use a new case design that improves airflow and allows drive hot-swapping. Also new is an integrated front panel SD card reader.

Other hardware features include one 10/100/1000 Ethernet, three USB 2.0 and one eSATA ports.

Synology DS211+

The DS211+ runs DiskStation Manager 3.0 and includes a 2 year warranty. MSRP will be $405 when it goes on sale shortly.
