Plex has announced an Android app for its popular media server.

Plex for Android mobile devices allows users to access Plex media server content on Android devices and provides many of the features in Plex’s iOS app.

Third-party developers and content owners can develop Plex Channels using Plex’s open framework. There are currently over 200 channels available through Plex’s service, including iTunes, Netflix, CNN, Revision3, YouTube, and more.

The Android application is available for $4.99. Users need to download the MacOS media center or the server application for Windows (both free of charge) to deliver content to the mobile applications.
