EnGenius has announced a pair of in-wall access points.
The 2.4 GHz N300 class EWS500AP and simultaneous dual-band N600 class EWS510AP easily install onto a standard wall junction box to provide in-room wireless, Power-over-Ethernet and wired connectivity in a single compact device. The APs can function as stand-alone access points or be centrally managed using EnGenius' ezMaster Network Management Platform.
Both access points can be powered over existing in-room Cat5/6 cabling via an 802.3af/at-compliant PoE switch. Features include enhanced receive sensitivity, fast roaming, band steering and guest network support, built-in four port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch, 10/100 Mbps 802.af/at-compliant PoE port to power a VoIP phone and an additional passive RJ45 pass-through port and 100 punch-down for phone or fax machine connections.
EnGenius EWS500AP/EWS510AP
The EnGenius EWS500AP Wall Plate Access Point (MSRP $229) and EWS510AP Dual-Band Wall Plate Access Point (MSRP $349) will be available in July.
