EnGenius Adds Biz-Class 11n AP Pair

EnGenius logoEnGenius has announced two "business-grade" 2.4 GHz access points.

The ECB300 Business-Class Indoor Long-Range Wireless-N Access Point/Client Bridge and ECB150 Long-Range Wireless-N Indoor Access Point/Client Bridge are 2.4 GHz 802.11bgn access points with maximum transmit power of 29 and 26 dBm, respectively.

Aimed at multiple AP business deployment, both access points support AP, client bridge, WDS access point, WDS bridge, repeater, and AP router modes.

Other features include WPA/WPA2 Personal and Enterprise wireless security, MAC address filters, client isolation, four SSID’s with VLAN mapping, and 802.3af PoE.

The ECB300 has two upgradable 5 dBi antennas (RP-N connector), while the ECB150 has one. Both can be managed via web-based admin consoles or EnGenius Zone Controller software.

The ECB300 and ECB150 are shipping now at $99.99 and $79.99 MSRPs, respectively.

HP and Cingular Wireless today announced availability of what is claimed to be the first notebook PC in the United States to feature built-in global mobile broadband capabilities.

HP said its Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC with integrated Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA-based technology is the first notebook with a tri-band UMTS modem supporting data rates of up to 3.6 Mbps. It can access mobile broadband service in the United States via Cingular Wireless BroadbandConnect or high-speed EDGE services and in more than 115 countries where UMTS or GPRS/EDGE networks are available.
