EnGenius Adds Dual-Band Indoor AP

EnGenius logo EnGenius has announced a simultaneous dual-band "N600" smoke-detector style access point.

The EnGenius EAP600 features high transmit power of +29 dBm and +26 dBm in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, respectively and supports link rates up to 300 Mbps on both radios.

The "smoke detector" format AP is based on Qualcomm Atheros chipsets with 64 MB of RAM. LAN connection is via a Gigabit Ethernet port that supports 802.3af/at Power over Ethernet.

Other features include four SSIDs per radio, management via web browser and SNMP application and 5 dBi internal antennas.

The EAP600 comes with a one-year limited warranty and will be available shortly at an MSRP of $179.

Atheros today announced two single-chip 802.11n solutions and associated PCIe reference designs.

The new dual-band AR9280 and single-band AR9281 integrate the radio, baseband/MAC and host PCIe interface into single chip 10mm x 10mm QFN packages. Reference designs for both devices are available for both PCIe half-Mini Card and full-Mini Card form factors.
