WirelessHD today announced the release of its 1.1 specification.

The WirelessHD Consortium today said its WirelessHD 1.1 specification announced this January at the Consumer Electronics Show is now available.

The updated spec increases the link data rate to 10 – 28 Gbps, handles "multi-gigabit" data rates for A/V streaming and file transfer, defines common 3D formats and resolutions and adds support for 4K resolution, WPAN (sync ‘n go) and IP data transfer, portable devices and HDCP 2.0 content protection.

The WirelessHD Consortium is comprised of 47 members, including Intel, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and core technology developer SiBeam.
