TRENDnet CES 2009 Announcements

The products announced were:

  • TEW-654TR 300Mbps Wireless N Travel Router Kit – small (2.5" x 3.25" x 0.75") single band router with 10/100 Mbps LAN port.
  • TEW-647GA Wireless N Gaming Adapter – 2.4 GHz draft 11n to Ethernet adapter that includes WPS support.
  • TEW-673GR 300Mbps Concurrent Dual-Band Wireless N Gigabit Router – Atheros based dual-band, two radio router with four port gigabit switch.

TRENDnet was also showing a prototype of its TEW-773GR 450Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router. This is a three-stream single-band router with gigabit switch and WAN port. The announcement said ""We are currently working through a few chipset stability issues and plan to release a 450Mbps solution in Q3 of this year."

The company also introduced its TV-M7110WK 7" Wireless Internet Camera Monitor Kit, which includes a wireless IP camera and 7" LCD monitor and will list for $450 when it hits stores at an undisclosed time.

First Certifications announced for Wireless USB Products

Turn your PS3 into a Linux Server

HELIOS Software today released a free download of a modified Yellow Dog Linux (YDL) distribution, optimized to use Sony's Playstation 3 as a test-drive server.

The distro is offered under basic agreement with Terra Soft Solutions, the developer of YDL. HELIOS prepared the distro primarily to provide a test-drive platform for its file, print, PDF and image server software.
