Thecus Announces Value-Priced RAID5 NAS

ASUS logoUpdated – Thecus has announced a four-bay AMCC-based NAS.

The N4310 is a four-bay version of the dual-bay N2310 introduced late last year. It runs on a 1 GHz AMCC APM86491RDK SoC with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM.

Four bays accept 2.5" or 3.5" hot-swappable hard or solid-state drives configurable in single drive, JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 volumes. LAN connection is via a single Gigabit Ethernet port and two USB 3.0 ports support drives for backup and printers for sharing. There are no eSATA or HDMI ports.

The N4310 runs Thecus OS6 with an extensive feature set including FTP and media servers, Transmission BitTorrent client, PLEX Media center and mobile control, remote access and media streaming via Thecus’ T-OnTheGo iOS and Android apps.

The Thecus N4310 will become available mid-September in the US for an MSRP of $349.

Thecus also announced its NAS and NVR product lines are compatible with WD’s new 6 TB Red and Red Pro drives.
