ZyXEL Introduces Dual-band Draft 802.11n Biz AP

The ZyXEL NWA3166 is a single-radio, Plenum-rated, enterprise-level access point that doubles as a WLAN controller capable of centrally managing up to 24 APs. It can also function as an independently or centrally-managed AP.

Features include WEP and WPA / WPA2 Personal and Enterprise wireless security, multiple SSID and VLAN support for up to 8 WLANs, internal PEAP server for 802.1x authentication, WMM + Auto Traffic Classifier (ATC) for QoS, load balancing by user limit or bandwidth and 802.3af PoE.

The ZyXEL NWA3166 is available now for $399.99 MSRP.

Intel’s “Kedron” Wi-Fi interface gets FCC approval

Public records of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indicate that Intel has received clearance for its wireless component of its upcoming "Santa Rosa" platform. Scheduled for launch in Q2 of next year, Santa Rosa will include the main chipset "Crestline" and the Wi-Fi link "Kedron," Intel's first 802.11n capable network chip.
